Glasson Rangers RLFC were
the first
Amateur Rugby League Club
in Cumbria to be awarded
the prestigious
Sport England “Clubmark” accreditation in October 2003.
Even today we are the only
Amateur Rugby League Club
within Allerdale and Carlisle
Service Area that hold the
Clubmark accreditation.
The accreditation as been a
beneficial tool in highlighting
the needs and requirements
of the club, and assisting the clubs dedicated volunteers in targeting
their personal development.
The Clubmark accreditation
identifies the clubs
procedures when working with children and young people in the following area’s:
1: Duty of Care & Child Protection.
2: The Playing Programme.
3: Sports Equity & Ethics.
4: Club Management.
5: Good Practice.

As part of the Club’s continued development Glasson Rangers
and recognition of the benefit
of being Clubmark accredited,
it began to work towards
achieving the revised
Clubmark Gold accreditation
with help and advice from the
RFL via Alan Davidson and Anthony Atherton.
Again with the support
and agreement by the Clubs volunteers Glasson Rangers
became the first
Amateur Rugby League Club within Cumbria to gain this accreditation, the certificate
was presented to the Club
at the England v Austrailia
Four Nations match which was held at Wigan on the
31st October 2009
